A lot can happen in 100 years.

Premier Electrical Corporation was founded by Bill Templeman Sr. in 1902. The company started out repairing vacuum cleaners and rewinding and rebuilding old-fashioned electric motors at 1124 South Wabash Street in Chicago, Illinois.

As the Company grew, with a reputation for taking on the large and unique projects, Premier Electrical opened offices in Minneapolis, New York, Puerto Rico and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in addition to his Chicago office.

Eventually, as the 1960s, 70s and 80s came to a close the ownership changed and Fred Jahnke and Doug Olson in Minneapolis became sole owners in 1987, opening Premier Electrical Corporation.

Both Jahnke and Olson agree that credit for this successful and colorful history belongs with the talented staff that Premier Electrical Corporation has been able to assemble.

Success starts with project management where company employees have always given the customer more than expected, and continues by creating partnerships with its many customers.

The Company’s service department has been able to grow due to its ability to respond quickly to the clients needs. The experience and creativity of the group enables Premier to maintain and install high voltage projects, complete industrial additions and provide tenant fit-ups.

The installation staff is the cornerstone of this business. A number of these people have been with the Company for over 30 years. Each one of them has approached customers with a warm, user-friendly construction experience that is welcomed in the industry. This family owned business has many father/son teams. Premier is proud of its family oriented approach that provides a unique and rewarding experience for all involved.

Knowledge of the industry and craftsmanship that is second-to-none is what has kept customers coming back to the Company. Over 50% of all Premier Electrical Corporation’s work is based on repeat business, which is a true credit to the efforts of everyone on staff.
