Premier Electric is proud to be supporting a major light rail transit expansion as the labor partner for Aldridge Electric, one of the nation’s leading electrical contractors.

This multi-year project includes 14.5 miles of new double LRT track stretching from the Target Field Station area to Eden Prairie. The expansion features 16 new stations, 29 bridges, two major cut-and-cover tunnels, and extensive electrical and communications infrastructure.

Premier Electric’s scope includes traction power systems, LRT signal systems, communication systems, tunnel systems, DC substations, and safety technologies such as CCTV and intrusion detection. Planning and scheduling began in late 2020, with field work starting in summer 2021. The project is currently scheduled for completion in early 2027, with public service beginning later in the first quarter of 2027.
