This project involved a fire alarm upgrade for the Minneapolis City Hall / Courthouse, a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Constructed between 1889 and 1905, the building was one of the first “elastic” buildings in the country, meaning each floor could be remodeled independently.
Premier Electric replaced all the fire alarm equipment on the fourth and fifth floors, removed and replaced all smoke detectors and upgraded the existing annunciation panels to meet current requirements.
